Department of Business Administration
Dr. (Mrs.) Moriam Adeyemi AREMU was born on 23rd May 1980 in to the family of Late Alhaji and Alhaja Eleta Quadri in Ilorin, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. She attended St. John Anglican Primary School, and Ransome Kuti Memorial Grammar School, both in Mushin, Lagos from 1986 to 1996. She also attended University of Ilorin for her B.Sc. Degree in Business Administration from 1999 to 2003, she did her National Youth Service in University of Ilorin in 2003 to 2004. She obtained Certificate in Data processing and Management Information System in 2003 and proceeded to obtain her M.Sc. Business Administration and Ph.D. Business Administration from University of Ilorin in years 2008 and 2015 respectively. As her passion for education and teaching advanced for she enrolled for Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme and graduated with PGDE in 2010 from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Dr. (Mrs.) Moriam Adeyemi AREMU started her teaching career as a Voluntary Teacher Service in Government High School Adeta from 2005 to 2007 and became a permanent staff in 2008. In her pursuit to move up her the academic ladder, coupled with her expertise and knowledge acquired in the teaching line, she joined the service of Al-Hikmah University in 2009 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose to Senior Lecturer in October 2017. She was appointed as the Ag. Head of Department, Department of Business Administration in 2013, 2014, 2016 till date.
Dr. (Mrs.) Moriam Adeyemi AREMU has served in so many capacities as Member- Dress Code Monitoring Committee, Member – Prayer and Extra Curriculum Monitoring Committee, Member- Panels for Sensitization Seminar for Students, Member Convocation Ceremonial Committee from 2010 till date, Departmental Academic Secretary from 2008 to 2012, Member Committee on Proper Conduct, Member-Editorial Board, Entrepreneurial Journal of Management Sciences, Al-Hikmah University from 2011 to2014, Ag. Sub-Dean (Female) Student Affairs Al-Hikmah University, Appointment as supervisor, female wing of the University Mosque, Member- Establishment of Al-Hikmah University Venture 2014, Nominated member to serve on Senate Curriculum Review Committee in 2014, Member of LOC on Thematic Workshop on Development of Islamic Banking in African 2014, Member – Founder’s Day Celebration 2014, Member- Annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition from 2015 till date, Member University Mock Accreditation Committee 2015 till date, Chief –Editor, Journal of Al-Hikmah Management Review, Chairman- Curriculum Development for Post Graduate Programmes in the Faculty of Management Sciences, Entrepreneur Journal of Management Sciences 2011 to 2013, Member-Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC)till date, Member -Annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition, University Sustainable Development Desk Officer(SDDO) from 2016 till date and presently she is Chairman, Al-Hikmah Water Factory till date.
She received Certificate of Merit Award by National Youth Service Corp in 2004 by Kwara State Chapter. She has 12 years’ experience in teaching and research with over Thirty (30) published articles both in Local, National and International Journal of repute. She has attended Conferences and Seminar both at local and National level presenting papers on her research activities in Nigeria. Her special interest is in the area of Strategic Management, Operations Research and Human Resource Management.
Dr. (Mrs.) Moriam Adeyemi AREMU is a fellow, Institute of Strategic Management in 2019. Awesomely, she is married to Professor. Aremu Mukaila Ayanda, in the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Ilorin. The marriage is blessed with male and female children.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAMME
Philosophy of the Programme
The philosophy of the programmes is in line with the University philosophy of seeking and moulding the total being by developing the mind and imparting morality, wisdom, knowledge and skills that would enable them to contribute to the social, economic, political and technological developments of the Nigerian society.
Objective of the Programme
The objective of the programme is to produce high-level managerial work force equipped with the appropriate knowledge, skills and aptitude to handle the ever-growing and changing business environment. In addition, the programme will equip students for postgraduate studies in any University across the globe.
(a) UTME for admission into 100 level: Minimum of credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Economics at not more than two sittings in SSCE/NECO/ NABTEB/GCE (O/L)
(b) Direct Entry admission into 200 level: Candidates must possess five credit passes in the GCE (O/L) or equivalent examination, at least two of which shall be at the Advanced Level provided that same subjects are not counted at both Levels of examinations. Credit passes at the Ordinary Level must include English Language and Mathematics. Also, either of O’ Level or A’ Level credit passes must include Economics. In addition, OND (Upper Credit) in Business Administration or Marketing is acceptable for Direct Entry.
